Pizza Hut is now the proud owner of the “World’s Biggest Pie” title, as the pizza chain recently crafted a pizza containing 68,000 slices.

The pizza chain descended on the Los Angeles Convention Center last week to build the world-record pie, which contained 13,653 pounds of dough, 4,948 pounds of marinara sauce, more than 8,800 pounds of cheese, and nearly 630,496 pepperoni.

In a conversation with Reuters, Pizza Hut CEO David Graves confirmed that the pie is on its way to being certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. He also revealed the company plans on cutting the pizza into 68,000 slices and donating them to local food banks.

“It’s a big team, as you can see. Look, I mean, look at the size of it. It’s a giant pizza,” Graves shared. “It’s about 14,000 square feet. So, if you think about that, it’s going to be like 68,000 slices of pizza when we’re all done. And the great thing is none of it’s going to waste. We can actually donate it to some local food banks here in the Los Angeles community. So, we’re really excited about that.”

Graves added, “You know, Pizza Hut has a history of making firsts, right? We were the first to deliver a pizza. We’re the first to take an order over the Internet. We’ve always done big, exciting things. And so, breaking the world record for the world’s largest pizza just felt like the right thing to do to celebrate bringing back our largest pizza. So, that’s why we did it.”
