The London Underground Central Line was suspended yesterday was a train full of passengers was hit by concrete from the roof of the tunnel. Reportedly it was caused by contractors at Westfield shopping centre drilling down through the roof of the tunnel.
Commuters apparently said the debris hitting the train was so loud it sounded like gunfire, and TFL confirmed that the train tracks could be seen from the surface level trough the whole in the ground. No one was hurt in the incident, but services were suspended between Marble Arch and White City whilst the whole was filled in.
