During a field trip in Sherbrooke, Quebec, a group of elementary school students discovered a body in the woods of Mont-Bellevue Park.
According to Noovo Info, the Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire Elementary School ended the field trip early when it became aware of the situation.
“Despite the unfortunate circumstances, most students were still able to enjoy a calm day,” school principal Brigitte Leclerc said.
Leclerc also said that a team of specialists arrived at the school later that day to support the teaching staff to help support the students who discovered the body.
The school asked parents to be attentive to their children’s behaviour and attitude over the next few days.
“Rest assured we have the well-being of your children at heart and that we are putting all our effort to maintain the proper support to the students,” Leclerc added.
The Service de police de Sherbrooke has launched an investigation but could not provide any information at the time.
