The coronavirus has completely altered American life, so much so, that not even one of its greatest culinary treasures is safe.

On Tuesday, Waffle House announced that it's closing 365 locations across the country.

The announcement comes after most states have forced dine-in establishments to close to help curb the coronavirus outbreak. Waffle House decided it was time to do its part as well.

"We want to acknowledge the great efforts of our associates, who work hard every shift to create a safe, warm and welcoming dining experience 24 hours daily," it said in a statement. "We are working hard to support them as we do our best to manage through this crisis."

The 24-hour chain restaurant is known for staying open despite drastic situations, and has even done so during natural disasters like hurricanes and tornados. In fact, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) created the Waffle House index in 2012, which gauges how severe a natural disaster is by how many Waffle Houses were shut down.

People who have has the luxury of living near a Waffle House have taken to social media to try to explain to America how serious things have now become.

Shit just got real. FEMA literally uses a Waffle House index to assess damage from hurricanes.

Waffle House. Never. Shuts. Down. https://t.co/qDNsXRtF5m

As a former employee of Waffle House, let me tell yall.

We were REQUIRED to show up when we were under hurricane warnings. First open, last to close.

They cared nothing about demands to evacuate.

If they're closing shop, it's a BAD sign. https://t.co/qh8QP60T1E
