Ohio man arrested after holding gun to girlfriend's head over job opps

An Ohio man is facing charges after he allegedly held a gun to his girlfriend’s head because he was upset she had job opportunities.

WTAP reports Brandon Bruce, of Marietta, OH, has been charged with aggravated menacing, two counts of domestic violence, and having weapons under disability.

According to police, Bruce held a gun to his girlfriend’s head during an argument on February 22 in which the couple was fighting over her getting calls about job opportunities. The victim told law enforcement that Bruce cussed her out, grabbed her face, and hit her and kicked her.

After the victim threatened to call the police, Bruce allegedly pulled out a gun, which she claimed was “cocked,” and held it against her head. While the gun was pointed at her, the victim said Bruce told her to “do it.”

Bruce then told the victim to leave, at which point her mother picked her up from the couple’s home.

Upon arrival, officials discovered that the fight was caught on camera by security footage, though it has not been released to the public. Investigators, who took photos of the victim’s injuries, allege that the video lined up to what the victim told authorities.

Bruce is currently being held without bond at Washington County Jail in Marietta, Ohio.
