One person is dead and five others are injured after a shooting Saturday evening near a popular shopping and entertainment district in Atlanta.

CNN reports the shooting took place around 8 p.m. in the city’s Atlantic Station shopping district. The individual who was killed was 12 years old, while the other victims range in age between 15 and 21 years old.

“Atlanta is a group project,” Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said. “When a 12-year-old dies in our city, on our city streets, with 100-plus young people that come to this area … the whole village has a responsibility, and the whole village is impacted.”

Atlanta police Lt. Germain Dearlove told reporters that the exact circumstances of the shooting were still unclear. No arrests have been made.

“It may be between two groups, one shooting at another, so two possible shooters,” Dearlove said. “Currently, we’re in the preliminary stage. We’re in a fact-finding mission to see what exactly occurred.”

In a statement to CNN, a spokesperson for Atlantic Station said, “Atlantic Station Security is working with APD on this matter and has indicated there is no active threat to the property. The community’s safety continues to be our top priority, and we are working closely with law enforcement during this active investigation.”
