A security guard working at a New York CityApple store was stabbed on Friday following a dispute over face masks, CNN reports.

It all started after the security guard, who is 37, asked a male customer to put on a face covering before entering the premises, as is required by store policy. Following the request, an argument broke out between the two individuals, which lead to the man stabbing the guard in the head and arm, according to WGN-TV. The incident occurred at around 6:20 p.m. local time at Apple’s Manhattan location on Ninth Avenue and West 14th Street.

First aid was administered at the store and the security guard was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Detective Sophia Mason of the Office of Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said that the victim “was stabbed one time in the left arm and one time in the forehead with a knife,” The Hill reports.

The suspect, who fled the scene into a nearby subway station before police arrived, has yet to be apprehended by the authorities. Police said the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt at the time of the attack.
