London Mayor Sadiq Khan has denounced Donald Trump's state visit to the United Kingdom today, labelling his actions over the past three years as "abhorrent" and "offensive".

In an interview with Sky News, Khan explicitly criticised the recent reproductive rights bill, as well as the separation of children from their parents on the Mexican border, amongst other US political headlines circling Trump currently.

Donald Trump tweeted his response to Khan, calling him "dumb and incompetent", whilst finding fault with his tenure as London Mayor. Trump failed to spell Khan's name correctly, and went on to label him a "stone cold loser" in a flurry of tweets.

.@SadiqKhan tells Sky News on #Ridge that the UK shouldn't "roll out the red carpet" and give @realDonaldTrump a state visit.

Trump's three-day state visit to the UK has seen widespread protests taking place, particularly across the capital, with banners displayed on Vauxhall bridge with the message: "Resist Trump. Resist Racism. Resist Cruelty. Resist Hate. Resist Sexism."

Following Trump's meeting with the Queen and attending a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, POTUS is set to conduct official talks in Downing Street with Theresa May.
