Stop us when you have heard this before, okay? Donald Trump lies—wait, wait, can we, at least, finish the sentence first? Anyway, what we were going to say was Donald Trump has lied about achieving a major presidential accomplishment.

While speaking with a group of first responders in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump claimed he broke the record set by Harry Truman for most legislation signed by a president.

"You know, one of the things that people don’t understand — we have signed more legislation than anybody," he said. "We broke the record of Harry Truman."

In actuality, Trump has signed fewer legislation than any first-term president going all the way back to Dwight Eisenhower, Politico reports via GovTrack. In an attempt to shove his foot further into his mouth, Trump suggested the media validate his claim. "I believe we have — and you’ll have to ask those folks, but I think they know the real answer," he said. "We have more legislation passed, including — the record was Harry Truman. That’s a long time ago. And we broke that record. So we have a lot done."

Daily Beast reports that Trump "has signed 96 bills, the fewest of any president since before Truman."

Since the media has done their job, fact-checking Trump's claim, and ultimately disproving it, you know what comes next, right? Trump is probably going to declare that the media is fake news, and that annoying cycle continues.
