Video Shows Just How Easy It Is to Conceal an Assault Rifle in Plain Sight

Here's how easy it is to conceal an AR-15, a semi-automatic rifle similar to the one used in the Orlando shooting.

Omar Mateen, the shooter who killed 49 people in the Orlando nightclub Pulse on Sunday, used a Sig Sauer MCX assault rifle (it was previously believed that he used an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle), which he purchased legally in Florida. As a security guard, he was licensed to carry a concealed weapon in the state, though you actually don't need a license to buy a Sig Sauer MCX in Florida. And, as evidenced by the video above, it likely wasn't even hard for him to conceal it.

What I don't understand about the Orlando shooting story is how did he "conceal" an AR-15

A video posted by Facebook user Rob Buck on Tuesday shows someone looking completely innocent and then nonchalantly pulling an AR-15—which is of similar shape and size to the Sig Sauer MCX, according to The Washington Post—out of his waistband. "For the conspiracy theorist[s] that say it can't be done," Buck captioned it.

On top of that, there are kits for sale that let people hide AR-15s in briefcases.

Oh, and if that's the only gun you noticed in the initial video, take another look.

Mateen was also carrying a 9mm handgun.

Further proving how easy it is to accomplish what Mateen did, Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Helen Ubiñas bought an AR-15 in only seven minutes.

Buck's video has been shared 3.6 million times, and people are commenting on what this implies about the accessibility of guns in this country.

@goldietaylor Thanks! For Showing US The Future Unless We Do Something Sensible For Commonwealth About Assault Weapons.
