We all know dance music can suffer from taking itself too seriously sometimes. So it's good to know labels like Hot Mom USA, run by turntable heavyweight Shiftee, are injecting some much-needed levity to proceedings. One our favourite things about the label, besides the music of course, is its free single series. The latest freebie out the gates is "Ferryman", a whimsical, but thunderous, club-troubler from Bleep Bloop, a producer who holds the impressive accolade of being the first signee on DJ Shadow's new label, Liquid Amber. "Ferryman" sees the future-minded producer kick out chest-crushing beats and bass, sci-fi melodies and some industrial-leaning breakdowns that meld into a peak-time banger, albeit a slightly disorienting one. Listen to the track exclusively below.
