It’s been a tremendous year for both Little Simz and BadBadNotGood. The UK rapper released her debut album, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, to widespread acclaim, while the Toronto trio linked up with Ghostface Killah on Sour Soul, one of our favourite records of the year.
It so happens that Simz and BBNG crossed paths recently, and connected on a collaborative track. “Our Conversations” proves that Little Simz’ rapid fire vocal delivery pairs nicely with a jazzy backbeat supplied by BadBadNotGood, as her syllables cut through swathes of woodwind trills and bass flourishes. If this crew teamed up on a full-length collaborative project ala Sour Soul, we wouldn’t be mad about it.
