Nottingham-based label Universal Works is shaking things up after its second Hotel DeLuxe capsule, with a fresh and uplifting collection for Spring/Summer 2023.
Inspired by America’s famous landscapes and hazy summer walks along the British coastline, the Chance Encounters line is presented in new colourways, textures, and matching tonal shades that incorporate classic Universal Works favourites like overshirts, work jackets, cardigans and pants, with subtle details that hark back to the Western theme.
Triangular pocket flaps come into play across the offering, as well as decorative yokes that almost resemble leather-fringed trims. Denims, chambrays and cool checks further reinforce this season’s laid-back mood, while the brand’s Cloud Denim is added to create a real “space cowboy” look.
In addition to the imprint’s mainline offering, Universal Works is also continuing its seasonal-long partnership with Japanese footwear brand Flower Mountain.
Described as a “natural encounter” between the two like-minded entities, the end result is a dual-branded clothing and footwear offering that sits as a part of the wider Universal Works collection.
