Menswear and streetwear brands often find inspiration from military gear, but wings + horns has taken a fresh angle on this reference point. For its spring/summer 2015 collection, the Canadian brand turns its attention to early 20th century U.S. military academy football teams. It's a unique aspect to take cues from, and it works. The collection blends athletic and military references flawlessly, and laces items with technical details that stand up to 21st century life. It's hard not to appreciate the nuances in the details, which include articulated sleeves, underarm gussets, hidden snaps, and knee darts. There may be some (friendly) competition between the Army and the Navy that inspired the collection, but one thing's for sure: wings + horns gets the definite W for its upcoming season.
