Henrik Vibskov Fall/Winter 2015 Requires Some Explanation (We'll Get To That)

None

Henrik Vibskov's collections are wild. Like, "what the normal world makes fun of when it makes fun of fashion" wild. However, within these out there collections are still some spot-on, wearable pieces. Sure, his F/W 15 overly puffy and asymmetrical vests probably aren't up your alley, but, still, you gotta appreciate the work dude's putting in. Part of the reason Vibskov's gear is so off-beat is, well, Vibskov himself, obviously. The Daily Beast published a profile on the man, which sheds a little light on his presentation tactics and how he works. Along with designing his own brand, he also teaches at the Danish Design Institute (coolest teacher ever?), works on music and is creating costumes for Bjork's upcoming opera because DUH. His designs cover a wide spectrum, from must cop color-blocked sweaters to the aforementioned puffy, duvet-like coats seen here. The piece covers some of his more daring exhibitions and antics from his earlier days, like making a jacket out of old waterbeds and having the Norwegian National Ballet perform during his S/S 15 show. Vibskov definitely qualifies as experimental and even he wonders if the theatrics of his shows detract from the actual clothing themselves, which, based on some of these completely fucking insane F/W 15 looks, says way more than we ever could.
