Abasi Rosborough Fall/Winter 2015 Is New Militarism

None

Spurred on by Complex Style's look at at few brands whose designers have spent time in the military, we're diving right in with Abasi Rosborough F/W 15, which is so fucking crazy you'll need to take some time between slides to absorb what's happening. As the aforementioned piece states, Abdul Abasi, one half of the design team, spent over seven years in the military and the time there influenced his designs and outlook on life. He even used the G.I. Bill for help with his education at FIT. But that military influence is subtle here, which is what makes the clothing so great. Menswear in general takes so much inspiration from the battlefield that too often the influence is heavy-handed and, quite frankly, off-putting. Instead, Rosborough's designs feel like a futuristic take on militarism. Lines are cleaner and flow smoother than most utilitarian clothing. The outerwear comes with more jarring cuts and pants are equipped with functional drawstrings at the ankles. You can catch Abasi Rosborough at select stores around the world and online.
