After teaming up on a capsule last year, Universal Works and Oi Polloi have reunited for another fire drop. The latest instalment sees the Oi Polloi store connect with fellow Northern imprint Universal Works for a gingham capsule of summer shirts in a series of vibrant colourways.

Made from high-quality summer-weight cotton, each peice has been made with a slight stretch, ensuring easy wear during hotter days. The partnership comprises four bold designs across two styles, incorporating a single-piece collar, straight hem, back yoke with two small pleats, and two chest pockets with button flaps.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Universal Works co-founder David Keyte said: “I met Steve and Nigel more than 15 years ago when I fell in love with their first store and tried hard to get a chance to show UW there. I always admired their incredible knowledge and love of garments, but more than that they had an option, a voice that was real and honest and, well, just proper Manc, which I loved. I guess from when I first met them I felt they were kindred spirits for me.

“This project came about from meeting them in our London showroom, where we present our collections to retailers six months before the season. The OP guys loved the gingham we were showing and our summer shirt styles but wanted to add some exclusive OP products to their normal slightly hazy colour spectrum and we settled on 4 of hits of colour. Sadly, the amazing coloured shirt collaboration never made it to the Manchester store, but despite the current setback, hopefully this will not be the last collab between Oi Polloi and UW.”
