Sharing its latest seasonal instalment, London-based menswear label Percival reveals a new line-up of playful wears for Fall/Winter 2023.

This season, the contemporary imprint has drawn inspiration from The Brothers Grimm and other childhood stories in a bid to create a celebration of adventure and the unknown. Titled Cautionary Tales, the collection is detailed with hand-drawn fairytale characters—which can be seen across the Storybook and Cuban Wolf Collar shirt—designed in-house at Percival’s London studio.

FW23 continues Percival’s focus on attention to detail as it introduces Japanese fabric in the wool shirting, hand crochet detailing, and embroidered crewnecks. The brand has also updated their trouser fittings and fabrics, offering styles in linen and wool as well as pinstripe and houndstooth detailing.

Completing the collection, Percival has also created water-resistant wool puffer jackets and functional pocketed gilets for the winter months ahead, mixing together influences from both gorp and cottagecore. These can be complemented with a range of accessories, including caps, scarves, and neckerchiefs.

Commenting on the assortment, Percival co-founder Chris Gove said: “Drawing inspiration from the narratives our parents shared during our childhood, the Percival AW23 collection, titled Cautionary Tales, emerges as a tantalising temptation. Classic tales like Hansel & Gretel caution against trusting strangers, a sentiment echoed in Little Red Riding Hood. However, we hold a different perspective. Strangers possess the potential for kindness. Similarly, Goldilocks supposedly conveyed the perils of greed, yet we find her actions to be more resourceful, if I’m being candid.”
