Avant Arte, the creative marketplace that makes discovering and owning art radically more accessible, has just launched its debut charitable print release with celebrated artist Parra and Amsterdam-based clothing brand Patta.
Titled When the Smoke Clears, the limited-edition art piece sees Parra bring together old and new styles which draw on the idea of a holiday romance gone wrong. Presented in the Dutch artist’s instantly recognisable figures and colours, the silk screen print depicts a woman seated in the foreground surrounded by a landscape of trees and mountains.
Proceeds of the collaboration will go to Patta Academy, a talent school set up to stimulate young entrepreneurship in Amsterdam by recruiting talented individuals and helping them realise their dreams. What’s more, Avant Arte has produced a film to tell the story of the collaboration and explore the entrepreneurial spirit of Amsterdam’s young creative class.
You can cop the print from September 22-24 from the Avant Arte webstore. Patta will also host a one-day event at their Amsterdam flagship on the final day, at which T-shirts and a black and white ‘shadow print’ version—limited to 250 prints—will be available.
