London-based retailer Footpatrol and Clarks Originals are continuing their ongoing relationship with the release of a two-piece footwear collection detailed with tranquility and reclusiveness. Drawing inspiration from Japanese zen gardens, the collaboration remasters both classic and contemporary styles, resulting in a unique and serene footwear experience.
Having previously joined forces across a successful Tawyer Pack collaboration in 2013—which included an reimagined take on the brand’s sportswear-inspired silhouette—this new drop, whose campaign is fronted by the grime legend D Double E, delves into the iconic Wallabee boot and embraces Clarks Originals’ latest silhouette, the Desert Trek Cup, while infusing their own creative spin.
Both styles feature a combination of long nap Chewbacca suede and buttery soft suede uppers, as well as embroidered rake patterns on the mudguard and toe vamp, respectively. For the Wallabee boot, the duo have taken on a minimalist grey build, matching its moccasin overstitch and lace system.
Clarks Originals lace fobs, featuring Footpatrol’s Gasmask logo, add an exclusive touch, while darker grey laces and metallic gold-printed branding on a wine-colored leather footbed, and a gummy crepe further ground the collaboration.
The Desert Trek Cup, another remarkable silhouette in the collection, showcases Footpatrol’s commitment to artistic craftsmanship. Coming as an ankle-cut design with grey suede uppers and a buttery texture, the silhouette is hit with embroidered rake patterns across the mudguard, sidewalls and heels, enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Nostalgic elements are introduced through additional laces, branded ankle flaps, and lace fobs. Completing the design are a dual-branded leather footbed and a thick welded crepe outsole, providing sophistication and comfort in equal measure.
