Fact: not all of your friends as fashion-conscious as you are. And you're OK with that because they are good company. You don't care what kind of lapel they're wearing when you're taking Jagerbombs at the bar together, right? You've accepted their ineptitude of style, but have they accepted your abundance of it?
Deep down, there are things that your friends hate about you when it comes to your love for clothing. They abhor you, in fact, because some of it actually reflects poorly on them. Next time you meet up with them dressed to the nines, try to keep a few things in mind so you aren't blindsided by their hatred; 8 Reasons Why Your Non-Stylish Friends Hate You.

Your Twitter/Tumblr/Facebook is way too style and fashion-related
New York Fashion Week was hell for your unstylish friends. Your Twitter feed was nerding out with discussion about Mark McNairy's quirky "Tupperware" shirt and an inordinate amount of leather references while Tumblr was constant reblogs of Zombie Boy and A$AP Rocky in Hood by Air sightings. The occasional rap lyric-turned-fashion related Facebook message snuck in there, but they haven't even heard Kendrick Lamar album from 2012, so they're on the verge of unfollowing you.
Your love for obscure shit doesn't help when they need recommendations
"Hey Nick, where can I get a good pair of denim for a decent price?" "Well, there is a new Iron Heart x Self Edge x Bathing Ape 32oz. denim coming out in a year with camo pocket bags and Pterodactyl tooth buttons that can stand on their own. They'll take about 4 years to break in, but the combs will look fuckin' sickboynasty."
Your inability to give them a Uniqlo oxford and denim recommendation because it's too simple is infuriating. All they wanna know is if Gap's 2-for-1 sale is viable.
You constantly put down unstylish things that they think are "stylish"
Boy, was your buddy excited when he got that bowtie from Nordstroms. He doesn't know the brand, but it has pink in it and you think pink is cool because it's fashion-forward, right? Wrong. You disapprove of it, especially when worn with a polo shirt and suspenders. You let him know you're disappointed in his decision, pat him on the back and tell him to go change. You don't think twice of turning down their hideous mistake, but you've cut him. Deep. And soon you will pay.
Sometimes, your style confuses them
"Wha...why is that...where do you even...???" Common question starters on the lips of your friends when you come over to the crib for a run-of-the-mill night of Call of Duty. You can't walk out of the house looking like a slob, but they just can't wrap their minds around camo pants and python-printed Margielas. What's wrong with Nike shorts and Adidas sandals? Confusion ensues, which leads to ire.
They don't understand how you have other stylish friends that they don't know
How are you "friends" with some dude in Chicago that they've never met? And you live in New York? Your friends don't understand the way #menswear brings random dudes together to share a common bond in fancy clothes and this does not sit well. They want to know how you can consider someone a "friend" just because they liked and commented on one of your Instagram photos. That doesn't fit their definition of friendship and actually falls under their immature definition of "gay."
They feel like you're always talking about something fashion-related
You called Justin Timberlake in a Tom Ford suit before anyone else? They don't care. You just got some limited orange En Noir leather sweatpants sent to you directly from Rob Garcia? "Oh my god, shut the fuck uuuuup." Whenever you bring up something fashion-related, a part of your non-stylish friend's soul dies. Sure, they want to hear about your day, but does it always have to be a shoutout to the fashion lords?
They hate when you drop a pricetag, even when they ask how much something costs
They've gotten used to the fact that your outfit usually costs more than their rent, but dropping the price on your Givenchy Shark sweater makes them want to vomit. Especially when you're constantly mooching beers off them and calling "not it" for the tip on bar tab. It doesn't even matter if they asked, they are secretly hoping you are stabbed in that expensive top, not so you're injured, but so it gets ruined and you're out of $500, you prick.
They secretly (and not-so-secretly) hate how much more stylish you are than them
It's a love-hate relationship. They hate everything about you that has to do with fashion, but god damnit, do they respect it. They want to be able to take risks with their wardrobe like you because they know it's your way of expressing your individuality, even though you swaggerjacked the whole thing from a Tommy Ton street-style photo (but shhh, they don't need to know that). They know that the ultimate goal of getting female attention comes easier for you, even if it's because they're super jealz of your shawl. You know your style is better than theirs and, unfortunately, they know you know, too.
