After photographer Krista Long took her two daughters to a waterpark in Des Moines, Iowa, she came up with the idea of "I Love Summer!," a photo series of people shooting out of waterslides, suspended in mid-air before they splash into the pool below.
"People would shoot out real fast, and it was a little different than the typical water slide," Long told Pop Photo. "I wanted every little water droplet to stand out and really capture, emphasize, and isolate the facial expressions and the body positions."
Long's photos are both comical and artistic, capturing the unchecked faces of her surprised subjects in minute detail. Young and old, Long's subjects all show the complete abandon of such summer fun, arms out, hair wild, and feet in the air.
"I think it's so fun just to watch everybody come out of this thing. It is just pure entertainment for me," Long told Pop Photo. We couldn't agree more.
