For this year's Armory Show, you can ride a work of art to the massive fair. Chinese artist Xu Zhenhas wrapped 10 Citi Bikes in patterned paper printed with a detail from his work Under Heaven. Eight of the colorful vehicles will be stationed at the Citi Bike dock at W. 57th and 11th Avenue while the other two will be installed in the New York fair.
Zhen is a multidisciplinary artist, known as a "chameleon of concept," who has worked in installation, video, performance, and photography. The Armory Show has chosen Zhen as this year's commissioned artist of 2014 as part of the theme "Armory Focus: China."
The first 20 lucky riders to pull up on one of Zhen's creations and post a picture with the bike and #ArmoryShow2014 on Twitter will get a free ticket to The Armory Show.
