The Yoko Ono collection for Opening Ceremony, called "Fashions for Men: 1969-2012" was released yesterday, and left us at a loss for words. The collection is based on a batch of sketches titled "Fashions for Men" that Ono gave to her late husband John Lennon for their wedding in 1969. The simple drawings of clothing were made with Lennon acting as Ono's muse. "I made this whole series with love for his hot bod and gave it to him as a wedding present," Ono explained. So, instead of trying to make sense of this limited-edition collection ourselves, we decided to channel lyrics from the original inspiration and his band the Beatles to help us figure it out.
"Yeah, you got that something. I think you'll understand."
"Don't carry the world upon your shoulders."
"One and one and one is three"
"Hey you've got to hide your love away"
"Help me, get my feet back on the ground"
"There were bells on a hill, but I never heard them ringing..."
"Ooo! I'm down. I'm really down."
"On the corner is a banker with a motorcar. The little children laugh at him behind his back"
"You know you twist so fine..."
"And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me"
