15 Items Stylish Dudes Will Definitely Wear at New York Fashion Week

In case you weren't aware, the '90s are back. There's nothing more NYC in the '90s than Calvin Klein Jeans, and considering that major stores like Très Bien are selling hoodies and T-shirts with the brand's classic “CK” logo applied to the front, you can bet that more than a couple guys will be wearing this New York classic in and around Lincoln Center.

Adidas is king. To say nothing of the dominance Pharrell had with the company last year, and ignoring the huge wave of hype brewing over Kanye's imminent product release, the German athletics company has all but stolen the crown from Nike when it comes to incorporating lifestyle and culture into their sportswear products. With the brand's meteoric rise to fashion relevancy alongside partnerships with the likes of Raf Simons, Rick Owens, and Yohji Yamamoto, expect most guys to be playing a simpler shape with the brand's over four-decade-old silhouette—the Superstar 80s. Unlike the modern version, the retro-inspired Superstar features a larger last a thinner tongue, and a better quality leather, meaning they're that much more fly. Why else do you think Run D.M.C. loved these shoes so much?

A statement topcoat is something that's trending big time (not like we didn't warn you) this winter, and with people bundling up to deal with NYC's hellish winter weather, it's only natural that they'd want to flex their outer layer as much as the looks they've curated underneath. With topcoats like Our Legacy's herringbone Coat Ten—which is pretty much sold out everywhere, you're sure to see to see plenty of guys rocking vivid topcoats in between the snowbanks—just don't expect any Cam'ron-level pink minks.

The 501 is as stylish as it is timeless. Since the model's introduction in the 19th century, guys have been wearing the classic shape for work of all types. When Levi's recently wised up to the fact that guys were always tailoring their brand new 501s to a slimmer leg shape, the brand decided to release a slimmer 501 in the form of the 501 CT. The classic workwear function of the classic jean, with a modern shape? It's a match made in fashion week heaven.

If you weren't already wearing Carhartt, let Kanye be an example of how to wear the classic Detroit workwear label. The brand's logo beanie has been worn by guys from all stripes, and considering that it's going to provide a lifetime of winter warmth at less than $10, you really have no reason not to cop at least one.

The Raf Simons Sterling Ruby collaboration resulted in easily one of the best collections of 2014, and several of the resulting pieces, including the layered sweatshirt, the “Nail Print” sweatshirt, and the hand-bleached overshirt sold out like proverbial hotcakes.

But while those were hits, the camo parka was a home run. Selling out almost instantly only to reemerge among the photos of street style photographers and shop editorials, the parka incorporates the graphic style of Sterling Ruby across Raf's clean and utilitarian camo fishtail parka. It may not have been a piece you've been able to get your hands on, but you'll certainly see among the fashion week crowds.

You've already heard us talk about what an impact Chelsea boots had in 2014, but don't expect that to stop anytime soon. The classic silhouette makes the boot not just easy to wear, but extremely versatile. From the suited up business execs, to the the designers in SoHo showrooms, you'll be seeing a lot of the this slip on boot. With a brand like Crockett & Jones, the quality is built into the product, so expect a solid Chelsea boot to last well beyond a few seasons of wear.

There's a reason that they didn't sell the Supreme Air Force 1s in-stores in NYC. Yes, the Supreme Foams caused pandemonium, but the NYC skate brand selling NYC unofficial sneaker? Insanity. Expect nothing different when it comes to these box logo hoodies. The latest batch is currently isn't available until Supreme's spring/summer 2015 collection drops, but there's no doubt that you'll be seeing the box logo in one way or another, under topcoats and on top of heads—it's a New York classic.

No, we're not talking about your grandmother's favorite brooch, menswear has been adding pins to their lapels as of late. With apparel brands like Engineered Garments producing pins along side pin-centric brands like (wait for it) Pin Trill, the accessory is surprisingly taking off. A major standout is Montreal-based Dime, whose text logo, and Bart Simpson-Garfield mashup pins have become cult favorites among those guys pinning it on.

Favorite of Skaters and Dover Street disciples alike, Gosha is only getting bigger among those who are aware of his new perspective. Hailing from Russia, Rubchinskiy created solid collections in 2014, making him an obvious choice as one of our best designers of the year. More recently, retailers like Dover Street Market have received his spring/summer 2015 collection which has continued his trippy, skater-aesthetic across branded sweaters, baseball t-shirts, and hoodies. Don't be surprised if you see plenty of gnarly skeltons in the front row.

This luxurious collab embodies high-scale fashion in the best possible ways, and like the luxury bags it's designed after, they're sure to be highly sought after and hard to score. Its unofficial “Hermès orange” isn't the only sign of quality, the pig suede and premium leather tonal upper prove that this is a shoe that should be flexed as much as a designer handbag. Besides, if you're into standing out, there's nothing better than a vibrant orange.

For those not wanting to throw on a topcoat or a heavy duty parka, you can bet that a warm bomber jacket is the next best bet. With Acne's goose down take on the classic military jacket, you're sure to see plenty of fans among the fashion week crowds. Don't be surprised though, with places like RSVP gallery featuring the jacket in a “dark wine” color way, expect to see this jacket in more than just black and olive green.

Kanye's really shifting menswear culture. Sure the work boot is winter classic, but considering it's one of the more affordable things that we see Yeezy wearing, there's no doubt that he's had a direct hand in boosting the sale of black timbs. Sure you'll certainly spot some six inch wheats around Lincoln Center, but it's more likely you'll “Black Timbs all on your couch again”—and at NYFW.

While people were quick to categorize Palace as “England's Supreme,” the brand has rapidly grown into it's own space—epitomizing an aesthetic that's somewhere between skate punk and U.K. soccer “chavs” (particularly with their adidas collaboration). It's hard to say what piece exactly will be seen at fashion week, but you can put money down that you'll be seeing its signature “Tri Logo” everywhere.

Now before you go start filming videos about how “class is for men, swag is for boys,” understand what we're trying to say. These modern, wide-brimmed hats aren't only made from quality materials, their shape isn't tight or small on the head—meaning they don't sit on top of the head. If you buy a cheap hat, it shows, and these guys are wearing something that's really anything but. It's not for everyone, but you'll certainly see them bobbing around Lincoln Center this NYFW.
