While energy consumption levels continue to rise as our demands grow by the day, designer Danielle Trofe presents a series of LED lamps that provide a revolutionary off-the-grid lighting solution. Her hourglass lamps are entirely energy self-sufficient, powered by the kinetic energy generated from the falling sand installed within the units. The designs come as table or floor lamps, which can easily be flipped over in order to continue producing light. Using sustainable wood and sand created from recycled glass, the hourglass lamps are environmentally conscious inventions. From their sleek designs to their innovative use of self-generated energy, the hourglass lamps may be the future of lighting.
