Earlier this year, VFILES announced that it would be launching the VFILES LOUD! program. The new endeavor would discover up-and-coming music acts and offer them a platform for exposure, much like it has done each season for emerging designers.
Musicians were able to submit their music to be reviewed by a panel of mentors which included industry experts like the Deputy Editorial Director of MTV Richard Turley, Senior Director of Music and Talent Programing at MTV Yomi Desalu, CEO of Fool’s Gold Records and DJ A-Trak, and celebrity stylist Akeem Smith. Today, VFILES has announced that they have chosen Brockhampton as the inaugural winner.
The boy band from Texas will receive a VFILES-directed music video that will premiere on MTV. They will also have a debut party next month in New York City to announce the release of an original track and video and Fool's Gold Records will release the winning artist's single.
