The 86th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, airs this Sunday. While everyone's attention will (probably) be on the nominees, anticipating to see who will win the coveted gold statue, it's always interesting to see what celebrities are wearing.
For the most part, actors, producers, directors, and other attendees have grown accustom to wearing formal, relatively conservative tuxedos. But, after a bit of digging, we found out that some pretty ridiculous outfits have walked the red carpet. Leave it up to guys like Billy Bob Thorton, Dennis Rodman, and Robert Downey Jr. to come through with some of The Craziest Oscar Outfits Of All Time.

Isaac Hayes, 1971
No disrespect to the great Isaac Hayes, who composed the music for Shaft, but he looks like he stole Santa's suit.
Corey Feldman, 1989
Still unclear what's going on with Feldman's entire outfit—and his life.
Robert Downey Jr., 1989
This is when Sarah Jessica Parker and the rest of the world started to recognize that Robert Downey Jr. was going way too many drugs.
Robert Downey Jr., 1993
Robert Downey Jr. didn't learn from a few years back.
Dennis Rodman, 1997
It's unclear why Dennis Rodman was even at the Oscars, but seriously:
Billy Bob Thorton, 1997
Billy Bob Thornton just ruined ZZ Top's classic "Sharp Dressed Man" and the lyric "Every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man."
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, 2000
Okay, these are crazy but also pretty awesome. Stone wore a pink dress made famous by Gwenyth Paltrow and Stone spoofed the infamous green Versace dress Jennifer Lopez wore. The stunt was ostensibly to comment on the expensive dresses and the amount of skin skin at award shows, but also to be hilarious.
Samuel L. Jackson, 2001
Who knew Samuel L. Jackson was preparing to audition for The Matrix Reloaded this early?
Adam Duritz, 2005
Is that Adam Duritz or Sideshow Bob as a pimp? Unclear.
Mark Andrews, 2013
Maybe guys should just stick to black tuxedos. Give them a little creative freedom and this is what happens.
