Get Familiar With 29 People in Calvin Klein’s Fall 2016 Campaign

A legendary model who needs no introduction, especially when it comes to Calvin Klein campaigns. Moss starred in one of the most controversial and talked-about Calvin ads of all time, alongside Marky Mark.

There may not be an album anyone is willing to wait longer for than Frank Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry, the follow up to his 2012 debut studio album, Channel Orange. With Ocean choosing to “Frank Ocean” in his Calvins, all of us can continue to wonder what it is he’s been doing in the year since the first July drop date of Boys Don’t Cry.

Fashion’s favorite redhead and scene stealer from the Vogue documentary The September Issue. Coddington recently branched out on her own, and while she spent a career behind the camera making magic happen for Vogue, now she’s stepping in front of the lens. Before working with CK, Coddington also collaborated with Comme des Garcons on a fragrance.

The Vancouver native was the 16th artist signed to the Atlanta label Awful Records. She premiered her first album, World Vision, on Complex just about a year ago. The rapper/visual artist told Dazed her music is primarily about “pain, sex, relationships, drugs, boredom and revolt,” and she definitely brings that young, rebellious feel to the campaign.  

As it stands today, the video for Keith Ape’s 2015 New Year’s Day release, “It G Ma,” has nearly 24.5 million views on YouTube. With the biggest South Korean hip hop song in the U.S. ever, the engraved-grill-wearing artist has been spending a lot of time in L.A. working with American artists like 808 Mafia’s Southside since his his hit single dropped.

When two humans like Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet procreate, there is a zero percent chance that the offspring will not be extremely attractive and creative, which is how we ended up with Zoë Kravitz. She’s graced the cover of Complex and recently had a role in the movie Dope alongside her friend and fellow fashionably inclined artist A$AP Rocky.

There are a lot of good genes in this Calvin Klein campaign, but maybe no genes are as blessed as Presley Gerber’s. Gerber is Cindy Crawford’s son and recently walked in runway shows for Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana. He has also already been in Vogue Paris. The 17-year old is an amateur photographer, too.

One of many artists Gucci Mane discovered in Atlanta, Cash Money Records’ Young Thug is the only rapper (aside from actor/model/cool teen Jaden Smith) fully embracing genderless looks, and in the video released for the campaign he even says, “I feel like it’s no such thing as gender.”

Australian actress Margot Robbie entered the mainstream consciousness starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street and has since appeared in films like Focus and The Legend of Tarzan. Most fans are probably looking forward to seeing her play Harley Quinn in the highly anticipated Suicide Squad.

Punk-legend-turned-actor Henry Rollins plays bad guy A.J. Watson in the FX show Sons of Anarchy. Like anyone else who has lived to talk about their most epic days in a hardcore band, he’s mostly just surprised he survived in his Calvins.

James Rodriguez is a Colombian soccer player who currently plays for powerhouse club Real Madrid. Many fell in love with his play during the 2014 World Cup, in which Rodriguez led Colombia to the quarterfinals.

Only in 2016 could we say something like, Vine star Cameron Dallas is featured in Calvin Klein’s latest campaign. Dallas may have risen to prominence on the six-second video platform, but he has grown way beyond that. He’s now widely followed—and most importantly, influential—across all social platforms. His inclusion in the campaign doesn’t come as a surprise. Dallas was seated front row at CK’s men’s show in January and was anointed the label’s next “It” kid by Vogue.

19-year-old Swedish rapper Yung Lean garnered attention when the video for his 2013 track “Ginseng Strip 2002” went viral. He’s rapped about everything from his Super Mario Bros. obsession to his favorite milkshake on a song not-so-subtly titled “OREOMILKSHAKE.”

Yung Beef is a Spanish rapper and part of the group PXXR GVNG. PXXR GVNG is based in Spain, but takes influences from the American South to make trap music.

Raenee Sydney is a model and co-designer for the label China Girl. Sydney has already worked with brands like Adidas, but the CK campaign is a bit of a homecoming. She told ASOS how she got into modeling earlier this year: “I was approached on Instagram by a Calvin Klein casting director from L.A.”

G.E.M. is a Chinese popstar whose real name is Gloria Tang Tsz-kei. Her stage name G.E.M. stands for—wait for it— Get Everybody Moving. She is one of the best-selling musicians in China and has been hailed as the “biggest pop star you’ve never heard of” or “the pop star about to take over America” by various publications.

Cuba Tornado Scott (yes, her real middle name is Tornado) is an artist who also models. She does not want to be defined as a model or remain in the shadows of her family. As the grandchild of English filmmaker Sir Ridley Scott, niece of Top Gun director Tony Scott, and child of two parents involved in movies and film, it could be very easy to do so.

Antoine-Olivier Pilon is a 19-year-old Canadian actor. Pilon is based in Quebec and stars in many French-speaking films and TV shows. He caught critics’ attention playing a troubled teen in the Canadian film Mommy.

Wilson Oryema is a model who has already scored important gigs walking for Maison Margiela and working with recent LVMH prize-winner Grace Wales Bonner.

Aomi Muyock is a Swiss model who might be better known for her debut acting appearance in the movie Love. The movie is described as a “3D sex odyssey,” and was the talk of the Cannes Film Festival last year.

Calvin Klein’s campaign is incredibly diverse—and that includes a large mix of people from different fields. Sonoya Mizuno is an accomplished ballerina and actress. She appeared in the 2015 sci-fi film Ex-Machina.

This isn’t Mark MacEachen’s first rodeo. The model previously appeared in Calvin Klein’s Fall/Winter 2016 men’s show. Also, if you were calling every bad b*tch to Equinox, MacEachen would be there—he modeled for the gym’s bizarre campaign.

Oldest daughter of R&B legend Lauryn Hill and granddaughter of Bob Marley, Selah Marley graduated from high school the week before the fall 2016 campaign was released. Not a bad week for the 18-year old who plans to attend NYU in the fall.  

You might best know Lola Kirke for her role in feature film Gone Girl and might be just as surprised to see her on this list as you were when Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle, which Kirke stars in, won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy Series earlier this year. Kirke is also related to Girls actress Jemima Kirke.

Model Roos Abels adds her appearance in the Calvin Klein campaign to an already impressive résumé. She’s modeled in campaigns for Dior and Gucci and walked in shows for Louis Vuitton, Prada, Armani, Chanel, and, no surprises here, Calvin Klein.

Kacy Hill has modeling experience under her belt—specifically for American Apparel—but she’s best known for going from Kanye West backup dancer to G.O.O.D. Music signee. While dancing on The Yeezus Tour, Hill passed West one of her songs and he signed her right away.

Anna Ewers is another superstar model who needs no introduction. The German model has worked with a ton of designers and labels, including Moschino, Chanel, and Balenciaga. She’s covered several editions of Vogue and is known as Alexander Wang’s muse.

One of only two athletes featured in the campaign, 15-year old Mo’ne Davis is one of the two girls that played in the 2014 Little League World Series and the subject of Spike Lee’s mini-documentary “Throw Like A Girl.”  She also has big dreams of playing in the WNBA—yes, an entirely different sport. In the meantime, considering she is too young for any college recruiters to speak to her, CK’s Fall 2016 campaign will do.

Bella Hadid may not be the most famous of the Hadids, but she's been chipping away at older sister Gigi's lead for some time now. Bella's fronted Allure, Vogue Turkey, Vogue Germany and recently starred in a campaign for Givenchy. You can now add Calvin Klein to that list.
