Ugly dudes of the Internet, unite—there’s finally a reason to celebrate your unattractiveness.
According to a group of UK-based researchers, handsome men are more likely to be denied employment than average-looking dudes. Why? The research suggests it’s because male colleagues don’t want to hire guys that are better-looking than they are.
In the study, 870 volunteers were given resumes with identical qualifications but with different photos attached. The men in the photos ranged in attractiveness.
While good-looking men were perceived as more competent, and were more likely to be picked for jobs that require team projects, they were rejected from positions in sales and investment banking.
