Kanye West has idolized Ralph Lauren for a very long time, so it was a big deal when Yeezy sat front row at the Ralph Lauren show, dressed in all RRL, and was photographed backstage talking to the man himself. As it turns out, the touching meeting was not the first time that Yeezus met God and got to talk with him about fashion.
In the Men.Style.Com video above from 2009, rapper and producer 88-Keys ("No Church In the Wild") talks about his love for Ralph Lauren, shares some of his favorite pieces, and talks about the day that Kanye met with the God. "One of my best friends, Kanye West, actually had a full blown-out meeting with him," he says around the 2:37 mark. "I remember I was the first person he called after it, and I was just on the phone shaking like, 'you gotta be kidding me!'" There are probably no sweet face-touching photos from that meeting, but whatever was said obviously inspired Kanye and made him love the designer even more.
