Happy 159th Birthday to you, Vincent!
Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in Zundert, Netherlands, and was an essential figure in the post-impressionist movement. He is most remembered for his emotional honesty and bold use of color, and it is these characteristics that have influenced other artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Henri Matisse.
