The North Face celebrates its iconic history and rich design armoury with the launch of its Fall 2019 collection, titled “The Archives, Reimagined”.
The Archives, Reimagined is characterised by three distinct drops spread across the season, led by modern reinterpretations of three of the brand's core silhouettes. Led by the Rage, Nuptse, and Steeptech, Fall 2019 explores some of TNF's most exciting collection's and collaborations, beginning with Kazuki Kuraishi's return to the helm.
Kazuki Kuraishi caused quite a stir when he stepped up to the plate for his first set of releases alongside The North Face, refitting classic TNF shapes with innovative utilitarian details and premium materials. His Japanese-minimalist styling once again frames the brand in a new light, delivering a series of impressive outerwear pieces such as the two-piece long down jacket, long Gore-Tex mountain parka raincoat, and cargo hooded rain jacket. Further setting this collection apart from those set to follow is its choice of colour palette, putting TNF's signature bold yellow in the spotlight, allowing for the technical details of each piece to shine through.
Next up is the modern-retro Rage capsule, standing as a utilitarian up-styling of the 1992 Rage Collection. Taking a step back from the unapologetically bold attitude of the original snowboard-inspired collection, the modern take on Rage features a muted palette of black, navy, and olive, with an aesthetic inspired by modern lifestyle, better suited to the streets than the slopes. The final release - Tech Denim - is focused on all-day comfort and performance, providing a smarter, more mature aesthetic that can be dressed up or down. Offering weather protection and clean lines, the Tech Denim capsule includes key pieces like the Gore-Tex denim jacket and Cordura split-hood down jacket.
