Christopher Bastin Is Leaving Gant

None

WWD reported this morning that Gant creative director Christopher Bastin will be leaving his post at the company where he's worked for 10 years. You might not have been interested in style or menswear when Gant made a huge comeback around 2010-11, but let me just tell you, that shit was hot fire amongst #menswear's most devout disciples. Bastin was specifically responsible for bringing back Gant Rugger in 2010, turning it into an extremely solid and covetable brand in its own right, before being named creative director for the entire Gant brand in 2012.

He leaves the company on the note of "I feel that my job at Gant is done — it
is now time for me to pursue other dreams." We'll see where those dreams take him. Perhaps it will be to another brand that could use his expertise and taste level. Gant says it will announce a replacement by the end of the year. Whoever it is will have some big shoes to fill. Pour one out for the Swedish, homie.
