Yo, what in the actual fuck? Talk about a terrible honeymoon *dad laugh*. According to Emirates 24/7, a man in Algeria who just married his wife is suing her for fraud to the tune of roughly $20,000.
The groom claims that when he woke up to his new boo the day after their wedding, she looked so different he couldn't even recognize her, according to statements made in court. Apparently, "He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief." There's not much further information on this case, but good fucking god, man. I really don't know how to come at this to be honest. It's ludicrous. The fact that he hadn't seen her without makeup before getting married is a surefire red flag. She never once let him into the bathroom while she did her makeup? He never once woke up before her just to watch her sleep? Yeah, that might sound creepy, but it would have saved him a lot of trouble, no?
I'm sure there is way more to this story, especially when it comes to cultural traditions and what have you, but I really can't comprehend that this situation is even possible—that there is somebody out there heady enough to open a lawsuit against their freshly minted spouse, a spouse who, mind you, never let the other see them in their natural state. Maybe they're actually made for each other and he just doesn't know it yet. Perhaps they'll settle out of court and realize that they're soulmates because they're both clearly insane #relationshipgoals. Too soon?
