Miley Cyrus is an avidwearer of nipple pasties. And in outtakes from her already-revealing cover story with Paper Magazine, in which the singer talked about her open stance towards sexuality, Cyrus reveals that her love for the accessory goes way beyond fashion.
Although Cyrus points out that critics don't see how can sing about empowerment while only wearing nipple pasties, she claims the look supports feminism. "[They are] empowering because the other night I was playing with Joan Jett in Dallas and I was in nipple pasties, like, 'Fuck, maybe I shouldn't go out,'" Cyrus told Paper. "'These people in Dallas are going to be really offended.' And then I thought, 'No, there are people that need to see it.' They need to see a woman standing next to another chick playing guitar, fuckin' singing a rock 'n' roll song with their tits out. Not just like, wrap their legs around a fucking pole."
There is a point where even Cyrus agrees that nipple pasties are not a good idea. The singer said she wanted to stay clear of that look during her recent "Backyard Sessions," which raises money for Cyrus' Dirty Hippie Foundation. "If I'm overly aggressive, it would just be like, 'Turn that shit off,'" she says. "'Of course that bitch with fucking nipple pasties thinks that gay people should get married. She's smoking weed! She's a psychopath.'"
