In terms of annual revenue, no U.S. apparel company comes close to touching Nike, according to Fashionista's list ranking the largest clothing makers in America.
Nike's annual revenue of $30.6 billion vaulted it to the top way above the second-place Ralph Lauren, which brought in a not-too-shabby $7.6 billion. Those two vaunted brands are followed by Old Navy and the Gap, with the latter's sales dropping, it now tails its more affordable sister brand by a few million—maybe it's time to give Kanye a call. The rest of the list is filled out with classic American brands, like Levi's and Tommy Hilfiger, and more upscale fashion ventures, such as Michael Kors and Coach.
Although Nike has proven sportswear is a wildly profitable business, Under Armour was the only other company in that category to make it on this list at the no. 10 spot.
In other rankings, Nike has been named the most valuable brand in the world, one of the most profitable apparel companies, and also landed high on Forbes rundown of important brands.
