Delikatessen Spring/Summer 2016 Goes To High School In 1999

Sometimes I wonder what brands and designers think of the write-ups they get here. There is so much thought and hard work and patience and compromises that go into successfully getting a collection produced and even more work in then marketing said collection and getting press coverage. Lookbooks are agonized over, copy is top edited and the right media outlets have to be vetted. Then, at some point, you get a Google Alert sending you to Four Pins dot com and BOOM you're trying to figure out how the past 8 months of your life boil down to some fucking tangent about being too chunky and awkward to fully feel included in a high school social scene from 1999. That shit's gotta be heartbreaking. Our apologies. But, thankfully, you still get the images posted and for Delikatessen S/S 16 that's a good thing. These new looks feature wide leg trousers and good looking shorts and I'm very much feeling the last look with the short sleeve jacket over the longsleeve shirt. Why? BECAUSE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED HIGH SCHOOL SOCIAL SCENE FROM 1999 DUH. We all wore longer white tees underneath our graphic tees so the sleeves would poke out. I don't know why, but I think that it was as strong of a look then as it is now.
