Thursday Supreme releases are something of streetwear lore at this point. They're so common and regular that they almost don't cause a blip on the collective menswear radar. We all know there's always a line of kids on Lafayette St. waiting for that new new. There's the diehards and the resellers, coexisting side-by-side, dependent on the box logo for wealth, both literally and metaphorically. But who are these future leaders of American bringing their own lawn chairs, willing to sacrifice life and limb to stake their claim on new Supreme gear? i-D staked out the most recent drop, much like Complex does, to get in touch with the youth who actually love Supreme. The elder statesman of the group is Racks Hogan, a 28-year-old who has shown up in a few Complex videos in his time running the line at 'Preme. What makes these hypebeasts tick? A whole lot of different shit it turns out, from skating to Drake to college and the freedom of being young. We'll see if their faint glimmers of hope start to flicker out like the rest of us miserable drones.
