From sending a step dance team down the runway to creating sneaker silhouettes that are out of this world, you don't expect Rick Owens to ever do the expected, and his Fall/Winter 2014 collection's lookbook elbows out everything else on your timeline competing for your attention. Longtime friend and fetish photographer Rick Castro shot a moody, black and white series of photos featuring Owens' gear, and the models are a group of old dudes ages 60 to 93. In fact, the oldest model is Castro's father, who poses alongside fellow elderly men in powerful imagery that challenges the accepted notions of masculinity, sexuality, and social mores that places the old out of sight and out of mind.
In an interview that accompanies the lookbook on Dazed Digital, Castro explains how the project came about, and what he intends to do in terms of pushing sexuality and the notions of fetish, both in his general work and in this particular editorial.
