Last season, basketball players like Dwayne Wade, Amare Stoudemire and Lebron James were sighted in the front rows of menswear shows. Now that these guys are back on the court, someone from the sports world needed to step up their fashion game in their stead. Judging from this past New York Fashion Week, it seems that person is salsa-dancing New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.

Three days after the Giants' clutch Super Bowl victory, Cruz was seen at Lincoln Center cutting the ribbon to officially kick off New York Fashion Week. He was then spotted in the front row of the Tommy Hilfiger show, seated next to stylish celeb Bradley Cooper. Prior to that appearance, Cruz had signed an endorsement deal with IMG Worldwide, which operates Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

As far as whose style Cruz aspires to? The athlete purportedly looks up to Dwayne Wade and Lebron James.

“Those guys really bring it,” The New York Times reports him saying. When it comes to how he dresses himself, the Times reports that Cruz prefers a cleaner look: “I like it subtle, maybe one or two stylish pieces. And everything has to be very neat, nothing can be wrinkled." [New York Times]
