Working with natural materials, March Studio has formed a sculptural retail space for an artisan bakery in Melbourne, Australia. Celebrating the product (bread) through flexible shelving that fits different size loaves, the idea is to create a "sea of bread amidst an enormous basket." The CNC-cut plywood certainly helps achieve the goal. And, also of note, March Studio pays respect to the heritage of the 1870s building by sampling removing a portion of the contemporary plaster wall.
A clear case of smart ideas and simple execution forming a dope interior. [Frame]
