Designer Tom Price recently showed this chair at the Museum of Art and Design in New York. Titled The Meltdown Series, the Blue Rope Meltdown Chair is created by heating and pressing a seat-shaped former into a ball of polypropylene rope. The rope liquifies as it comes into contact with heat and, as it cools, it sets in the shape of a seat. [Outdoorz Gallery]
Chair of the Week: Blue Rope "Meltdown Series"
These chairs are made by pressing a hot form into a pile of rope. Kind of craze.
