Cory Arcangel: Pro Tools opens today, May 26th, at the Whitney Museum. The Brooklyn-based artist is known for his never-ending barrage of wit and hilarity, and this show is an extension of work we already love. Cory took us through his solo show yesterday, pointing out his appreciation for reviving obsolete technology, eternal gutter balls, a wall painted Jay-Z blue, and a Warholian tribute with 52-inch flat screen TVs. This multi-channeled projection of bowling video games was developed along with the Barbican museum in London is the centerpiece of Pro Tools. The series of hacked bowling video games roll only gutter balls when visitors play each version. When asked, “Why gutter balls?” Cory replied in the video above.
