Intro

Breathe easy John Lucas III. Blake Griffin did you a major service by monumentally cutting your time of embarrassment by quickly switching the focus to the Oklahoma City Thunder's Kendrick Perkins. After watching LeBron bypass Lucas in his leap to the hoop, Griffin took a completely different approach, plowing through Perkins on his way to a powerful slam that has people discussing the best of all time. With an event this large, it's only right to voice your opinion in the biggest discussion board of all: Twitter. Check out some of the reactions to Griffin's most recent poster.

LeBron James

@KingJames

Kendrick Perkins called it a dunk, LeBron called it a dunk, and his fingers clearly touched the rim, so can the haters please stop with all the "it's not a dunk" nonsense? By the way, LeBron, stop trying to fake humility. It's too late for that, and it's not flaterring on you.

We totally agree with this tweet. Sort of. We think that there was a better dunker in Space Jam than the Monstars. Similar to Michael Jordan's last-second jam in the cartoon favorite, Blake was hit hard and had to do some super-human Strech-Armstronging to make it to the hoop. And yes, Griffin did touch the rim with his fingers, unlike MJ.

Daily Thunder

You know how Twitter works. A story blows up, people start looking at everything in the subjects recent pass, and start making connections. People were obviously checking for Perk's Twitter to kick him while he was down. To their dismay, there wasn't one. Automatically, people stated that he'd removed his account following the dunk, including us (yeah, we're big enough to admit our mistakes). Royce Young, a well-respected Thunder blogger, set the story straight, confirming that he'd deleted the account about a month ago, not after the slam.

For the young ones that are unaware, Captain Planet, aka Earth's greatest champion, is a combination of powers represented in five places around the globe: Africa with the power of Earth, North America with the power of fire, the Soviet Union with the power of wind, Asia with the power of water, and South America with the power of Heart. Basically, C.J. Miles thinks Blake Griffin has the power and ability to do whatever he wants while also saving glaciers and baby Komodo Dragons.

David Garrard

@DavidGarrard

You know something is special when you get a crazy shout out from never-heard-from David Garrard. Too bad you didn't have some special power boost for your back, David. Oh, and apparently you doesn't know the difference between an exclamation point and a question mark.

And his cousins, and his nieces, and his nephews, and his future grandchildren, and his dog, and, well, you get the point.

Michael Smith

If you didn't notice before, Mr. Perkins isn't exactly the most friendly looking fellow. If we were ever next in line at the park waiting for a court, and he tried to say he had been there first, we'd probably just agree and help him kick the current teams off. We're just saying, he looks a little demon-like. Don't try to deny it. After what happened Sunday, as Michael Smith points out, he now has reason to look like that all the time.

@MuggsyBogues

This one isn't funny, it just shows the obnoxiously high level of praise this dunk is getting. By Muggsy Bogues, one of the shortest well-known dunkers in NBA history, Blake is put on a platform higher than Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, Dominique Wilkins, and Julius Erving. Just think about that for a minute. Understand why people are mad now?

Swagger Jack

@SwaggerJack

Before, we never would have taken shots at Perk's toughness or manhood. Now, dare we say he might be a little bit sweet?

Tweet: Kendrick Perkins’ Wikipedia Page Received a Facial After the Blake Griffin Dunk bit.ly/AyPUoF [by@CRM_Stephen]

Wikipedia Alteration: Ever since January 31 of 2012, when Blake Griffin forcibly removed Perkins’s soul from his body, he has been a highly-sought subject of existential and spiritual researchers.

The Big Lead made a great observation shortly after the happening occurred. Within minutes of Griffin's slaughter, somebody made it a point to go onto Kendrick's Wikipedia page and accurately update the momentous occasions in his life. We're just wondering why Wiki took it down when there is clear video evidence that it happened.
