The Chinese are amidst a full-on automotive takeover (the market, not the makers) If you haven't noticed, there were a lot more surprises and big debuts at the Beijing Motor Show this past weekend than there were at the New York Auto Show last week. That's not by accident. It's a humongously growing market, and every company is gearing to meet the country's needs.
Nissan's big debut is the Lannia Concept, which is aimed at the "post-'80s" gen, or the bālínghòu. Basically, people who are mid-'20s to early-'30s. The design is pretty attractive on this Bluebird callback, displaying, of course, Nissan's V-Motion design. It's extremely wavy and flowing, with the floating roof, V grille and boomerang headlamps. Personally, this design seems to work a little bit better when the V isn't so exaggerated, and it's a bit wider and more spread out on sedans, rather than SUVs. Looks like it'd be a great option for younger buyers who are in the market for their first new four-door.
