We've just got our first glimpse of FIFA 20, and the 2019/20 season beckons a new twist to football gaming.
The new version of FIFA will introduce a new ‘Volta’ mode – meaning ‘return’ in Portuguese – with EA Sports finally answering demands for the renaissance of a FIFA Street-style game; and this time it's included as a feature of the main FIFA game.
Bringing the sport back to its roots, a variance on the 11v11 gameplay has been included offering up 3v3 Rush (No GK’s), 4v4, 4v4 Rush, 5v5 and Professional Futsal modes. Using the same engine, the game places an emphasis on a more skilful game, ushering in a rebirth of the classic elements of the game.
The main 11v11 mode has changed to encourage more 1-on-1s, off-the-ball space creation as well as new penalty and free-kick mechanics, and new ball physics – clearly the game is set to evolve once again.
English stars Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho feature heavily in the trailer which you can watch above.
FIFA 20 is slated for release worldwide on September 27th.
