The Electric Mercedes SLS AMG Can Lap the Nurburgring in Under Eight Minutes

It's the first electric car to join the eight minute club.

There's no mistaking which SLS AMG this is, the lack of that glorious V8 sound and the insane neon paint give it away. It's clearly Mercedes' electric experiment. What's amazing is that the 751 hp electric car managed to lap the Nurburging's North loop in about the same amount of time as the gas powered model: 7:56.234 minutes.

Yes, this is the first electric car to join the eight minute club. What we want to see now is how well the Tesla Model S can handle the 'ring. You reading, Musk?

Also, Mercedes wins the Cheesy Press Release of the Day Award for the following: "The most "electrifying" gullwing model ever has been developed in-house by Mercedes-AMG."
