Go-karts have experienced a huge resurgence in the past decade. Indoor tracks from companies like K1 and Pole Position are popping up all over the country and competitive karting races are now carried by major networks including Speed and Velocity. Today we bring you ten circuits that are a cut above the rest. From multi-level family fun tracks to super-competitive, mile-long circuits in England, we take you on a journey of the coolest go-kart tracks from around the world.
10. Monarto Karting Complex
Location: Monarto, Australia
This is easily the most competitive track in Australia. As you can see, it's located in the middle of nowhere and is designed for only the most die-hard karters. Bring your helmets, boys!
9. The Track
Location: Branson, Missouri
"The Track," as it's called, isn't a spot where you will find budding race-car drivers honing their chops. This is strictly family fun. "The Track" actually isn't just one drive, either. It features 14 different tracks for different age and experience levels, including the Heavy Metal High Rise, which has a four-story corkscrew.
8. Monticello Karting
Location: Monticello, Florida
Monticello is about as race-inspired as it gets. The track was designed by Pablo Montoya, father of Indy 500 champ Juan Pablo Montoya. The mile-long circuit features 19 turns and can be run in either direction.
7. Extreme Indoor Karting
Location: East Tamaki, New Zealand
Multi-level indoor tracks are tough to find. This one, in New Zealand, has three levels and a cool subterranean tunnel.
6. Mosport International
Location: Bowmnaville, Ontario
The international karting facility at the Canadian Tire Motor-sport Complex is one of the best in the world. Located adjacent to the world-class automotive circuit, it annually hosts the most competitive karting races on the planet.
5. Jim Hall Track Time
Location: Ventura, California
The Jim Hall track is a great spot for amateur karters looking to have a little fun. The track is made from real asphalt and features a nice array of fast and low sections and has straightaways of up to a 1/4 mile in length.
4. Fastimes
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Fastimes may not be the biggest or fastest track on this list, but we have a soft spot for multi-level indoor tracks. Check it out if you are ever in town for the Indy 500.
3. Dubai Autodrome
Location: Dubai, UAE
Dubai has everything, including one the coolest and fastest karting circuits in the world. In fact, they are so serious about karting they have begun to hold annual 12- and 24-hour race challenges similar to Le Mans and Sebring.
2. Kart Kountry
Location: Sheperdsville, Kentucky
The Kart Kountry track made our list because, at 1.5 miles, it is currently the world's longest go-kart circuit. Plus, using "K" instead of "C" reminds us of Diddy Kong Racing, which is always a good time.
1. Lydd Kart Circuit
Location: Trent, England
Lydd is the most offical racing track on the list. At 1.2 miles long, it is recognized as one of the world's premier karting circuits and regularly hosts some of the best and soon-to-be-famous racers in the world.
