Canadian football is coming to American television screens this summer.
The CFL is partnering with CBS Sports Network on cable to show 34 games of the upcoming season in the United States. It’s part of a new multi-year pact.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with CBS Sports Network to serve our loyal fans in the U.S. and grow our base there,” said Randy Ambrosie, Commissioner of the CFL, in a press release.
Some of the games slated to air on CBS include the season opener featuring the BC Lions against the Calgary Stampeders, a Canada Day matchup between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Montreal Alouettes, and two games on Labour Day that will pit the Toronto Argonauts against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Edmonton Elks versus the Stampeders.
CBS Sports and the CFL will reveal the full lineup at a later date.
“The CFL is an exciting brand of football, with a great history that has long included some of the stars of the game,” said Dan Weinberg, Executive Vice President, Programming of CBS Sports. “We are excited for the CFL to join our robust line-up of live events on CBS Sports Network and we look forward to showcasing the current generation of CFL stars.”
Back in 2022, the CFL partnered with Canadian clothing brand Peace Collective on the “Let ‘Em Know” capsule.
